PinMill Wrecks in Suffolk - Echoes of Forgotten Journeys

The Dance of Decay: Boats Embraced by Nature's Calm. Step into a serene landscape where time stands still, as two weathered boats gently lean into the embrace of nature. This artwork, titled "The Dance of Decay," reveals the beauty found in abandonment, showcasing the rustic charm of these vessels as they surrender to the elements. The tranquil waters reflect a story of forgotten journeys, inviting viewers to ponder the adventures that once filled these boats. With its engaging composition and subtle hues, this piece effortlessly brings a touch of the outdoors into your space, making it a perfect addition for those who appreciate the interplay of nature and history.

Pin Mill is a hamlet on the south bank of the tidal River Orwell, on the outskirts of the village of Chelmondiston, on the Shotley peninsula in southern Suffolk. It lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a designated Conservation Area. It is now generally known for the historic Butt and Oyster public house, and sailing.

The Boat Graveyard is a short walk past the Butt and Oyster riverside pub and up into the wood. As you enter the wooded area, follow the track for a short distance passing the boat houses until you see the boat wrecks through the trees. Hop down the bank and over the small barrier on the shoreline. Bring waterproof shoes or boots to avoid wet feet if the tide is high!
