This is one of the most meaningful paintings I have created. Also, I think this is my first pink sunset as I have witnessed as an adult. Reference picture for this artwork was taken at my favorite spot, where I like to travel with my family. It's a small town in Rhode Island called Westerly. I feel so comfortable, also, I connect to nature through the beautiful endless ocean.

It was a beautiful day, with perfect weather in the high 80s F. I brought my kids to our favorite beach in Westerly, we played in water, ate seafood at the local restaurant, I took lots and lots of pictures of this beautiful view and when was ready to paint, I kind of zoomed it in so I can easily paint water movement. Ocean was peaceful and there were small waves which I perfectly displayed. I used a lot of warm colors in this painting to show sky sunset and it's reflection on the water (which is soft purple that you see).  Also, I added dark blue with a hint of green in the water, because this is the ocean color that it is in that area. I used a harsh natural hair bristle brush to paint it's foam, I think it perfectly shows that water was calm that day.

This artwork sides are painted, so it can be hang without a frame, you may just add wiring in the back or hang it just like that.

This is 18x24" oil on stretched canvas.

Materials used:

I used stretched cotton canvas in size 18x24", professional grade oil paint, satin varnish.
