Artwork description
My poppies are almost ready to bloom. A few days of sunshine, and they'll open right up. In the meantime, I made a hand-colored linocut of the poppies from my garden last year. I especially love the pink poppies with the lime green pod and purple stamens. So, this is what I made yesterday.
I drew the image on linoleum, carved out the negative space, inked up the positive space, printed it onto white Canson printing paper, and colored it in with watercolor and gouache. That's my process.
