Auvergne landscape, France.
Here I stand on the slopes of Mont Mézenc, not far from the summit. The air is crisp and biting, but the early spring sun is already warming the old, gnarled trunks of the pines. The thaw has begun, revealing the volcanic rocks and the heather. Snow still clings to the hollows of the path. It is a landscape shaped by a harsh climate, just waking up from the long winter.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows it to be hung without a frame, should you wish.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
