Original artwork description
Pin Mill is a quaint hamlet on the Essex side of the River Orwell close to the Essex/Suffolk border. It is marked by the Butt & Oyster public house, Thames barges and various house boats moored along the foreshore. I was inspired to paint the picture as we walked towards Pin Mill from the sailing club near the Orwell Bridge and made an outline sketch from the footpath.
