Artwork description:
I wanted to capture the depth and delicacy of the petunia flower heads to develop into a screen print. I chose to use bold colours to result in a modern contemporary image.
A seven colour original hand-pulled screen print.. One colour is printed at a time by hand using a squeegee which pushes ink through the screen onto the paper. For each new colour the artist makes a separate drawing/stencil and different coloured layers are built up to create a design.
