Original artwork description
Peace of Mind 47 emerged from an intuitive and deeply meditative painting process, where I allowed colour and movement to develop without a predetermined image. Layers of muted blue, green and grey are interrupted by flashes of pink, red, orange and luminous green, creating a quiet tension between softness and energy.
The inspiration came from the complexity of the inner world—the way moments of calm can coexist with emotion, memory and unexpected bursts of colour. I worked with vertical movements and translucent layers, allowing earlier marks to remain visible beneath the surface, giving the painting a sense of depth and history.
What makes this work special is the balance between serenity and intensity. Although the overall atmosphere is calm and contemplative, small areas of vivid colour seem to emerge like thoughts or memories. For me, the act of painting is meditation, and this work captures that state of being present, letting go and finding peace within movement.
