Peace of Mind 45 was created as an exploration of quietness, balance and the feeling of slowing down. I worked with soft, muted tones of taupe, beige, grey and subtle blue-green, building the surface through broad, layered strokes. The overlapping rectangular forms create a gentle sense of structure, while the variations in transparency and texture allow light to move across the painting.
The work reflects my belief that peace does not necessarily mean complete silence or emptiness. Sometimes it comes from finding harmony within complexity and allowing things to exist without needing to control them. While painting, I deliberately allowed my movements to become slower and more intuitive, turning the process into a form of meditation.
What makes Peace of Mind 45 special to me is its understated character. It does not demand attention through strong contrasts or dramatic gestures; instead, it invites the viewer to pause, breathe and spend time with it. I hope it creates a similar feeling of calm and quiet presence in the space where it is displayed.
