“Peace of Mind 42” was created as an exploration of calm, openness and the quiet spaces that exist within the mind. I began intuitively, without a predetermined image, allowing broad layers of acrylic paint to build the composition gradually. Soft horizontal and vertical movements overlap and merge, creating a sense of depth while keeping the overall atmosphere peaceful and restrained.
The painting is dominated by shades of blue, turquoise and cyan, with subtle variations in tone creating the feeling of light moving across water or through an open, quiet landscape. The simplified rectangular forms give the work a gentle structure, while their softened boundaries allow the colours to flow naturally into one another.
What makes this painting special to me is the sense of freedom that developed during its creation. I allowed myself to slow down and let the painting evolve without forcing a particular result. This intuitive process is closely connected to my meditation practice: painting gives me a place where the outside world becomes quiet and I can focus completely on colour, movement and the present moment.
