“Peace of Mind 41” was created as an exploration of stillness, structure and the feeling of retreating into a quiet inner space. I began intuitively, without a fixed image or subject, allowing layers of acrylic paint to develop through broad horizontal and vertical movements. The forms gradually emerged through overlapping blocks of colour, softened edges and subtle changes in texture.

The monochromatic palette of blue, turquoise and pale blue creates an immersive, almost dreamlike atmosphere. The layered rectangular forms suggest a quiet architectural landscape, a series of spaces or places existing within the mind. Light appears between and across the forms, creating depth and giving the composition a sense of calm movement.

What makes this painting special to me is its simplicity. My creative process is often energetic and physical, but sometimes peace comes through restraint. While creating “Peace of Mind 41”, I allowed myself to slow down and respond only to the colour, texture and balance developing on the canvas. Painting became a form of meditation, where there was no need to rush or control the outcome.

For me, this work represents the possibility of creating a peaceful place within ourselves — a space where we can step away from noise, breathe and simply be. I hope the painting offers the viewer that same feeling of quietness, spaciousness and inner calm.
