“Peace of Mind 39” was created as an exploration of warmth, emotion and the quiet balance that can exist between contrasting feelings. I began intuitively, without a predetermined image, allowing layers of acrylic paint to develop through long vertical movements, blending and softening the colours as the composition evolved.

Warm earthy browns and muted greys form the foundation, while vivid turquoise, coral, pink and subtle red emerge through the layers like unexpected flashes of light. The vertical strokes create a gentle sense of movement, while the contrast between warm and cool colours gives the painting an emotional depth. The brighter passages feel almost like distant memories or moments of happiness appearing through a quieter atmosphere.

This work is special to me because it reflects the way I experience painting. I do not always know what will happen when I begin. I allow instinct, colour and movement to guide me, and the process gradually becomes a form of meditation. Painting gives me a place to disconnect from the outside world and transform emotions and restless energy into something peaceful.

“Peace of Mind 39” is a reminder that inner peace can contain many colours and emotions. It does not require everything to be silent or still; sometimes peace comes from allowing all those different feelings to coexist in harmony.
