“Peace of Mind 33” was created as an exploration of stillness, depth and the quiet movement of emotion. I began intuitively, without a fixed subject in mind, allowing long vertical movements of acrylic paint to guide the composition. Layer by layer, I built and softened the colours, allowing some passages to remain visible while others disappeared beneath new layers.
The painting is dominated by different shades of blue, turquoise and deep green, with delicate areas of pale blue and white creating the impression of light moving through water or mist. The darker passages add depth, while the brighter areas appear almost like glimpses of light emerging from within the painting. The continuous vertical movement gives the work a flowing, immersive quality.
What makes this painting special to me is its connection to my meditative approach to painting. I do not always know what the final image will be when I begin. I allow instinct, movement and colour to take over, and the painting develops through the process itself. For me, this is where painting becomes meditation — a moment of complete focus and escape from the outside world.
“Peace of Mind 33” invites the viewer to slow down, follow the flowing lines and become immersed in its quiet atmosphere. I hope it creates a feeling of calm, depth and inner space.
