PEACE OF MIND 27 (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by GORAZD BRAČUN

“Peace of Mind 27” was created as an exploration of the relationship between stillness and hidden energy. I began intuitively, without a predetermined image, allowing layers of acrylic paint to develop through repeated vertical movements, blending, scraping and revealing what was underneath.

The muted blue-grey atmosphere creates a calm and contemplative foundation, while flashes of orange, turquoise, pink, violet and bright blue appear unexpectedly throughout the surface. These bursts of colour feel like small moments of emotion, memory or light breaking through an otherwise quiet state. The contrast gives the painting a sense of depth and reminds me that peace does not necessarily mean the absence of emotion or movement.

This work is special to me because it reflects the way I experience painting itself. The process is my meditation — a space where I can disconnect from the outside world and allow instinct to take over. “Peace of Mind 27” became a visual record of that inner journey, where calm and energy can exist together.

I hope the painting invites the viewer to look slowly, discover the hidden colours within its layers, and find their own moment of peace.
