The Elegance of Trace
In the Parvati series, Philippe Buil explores femininity from a more intimate angle. Andalusian Trace is a sculpture one-third life-size that concentrates all the emotion of movement in an alloy of precious and raw metals.
The bust appears to be dressed in an invisible fabric, suggested by the subtle transition from bronze to steel. This two-tone blend creates a unique metallic drape effect, where the steel lace seems to undulate with the fluidity of fabric. The artist's signature is expressed here in the mastery of emptiness: the structure does not imprison the body, but rather traces its contours with poetic lightness.
Placed on a polished circular base, this unique piece offers a striking contrast between the brilliance of the materials and the raw lace, making each angle of view a new visual discovery.
