Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired by photograph that I took of a riverside meadow. Delicate cuckoo flowers stand tall against a backdrop of trees. Traditionally, in Europe, cuckoo flowers (also known as Lady’s Smock) have a symbolic association with spring, and the feminine. Ecologically, they are loved especially by the orange-tipped butterfly, and they are an indicator of healthy, undisturbed wetland habitats. This painting is embellished with gold and silver highlights. It is strung at the back, and is ready to hang.

Materials used:

Acrylic, marbling ink, silver leaf
