Artwork description:

This is an original solarized gelatin silver print with an overlay of graphite and mixed media drawing by American artist Jerry De La Cruz (b 1948, Denver, CO). The work is 10” high by 8” wide and is matted to a framing size of 16” height by 14” width. The subject is a bust high portrait of a young woman. She faces the viewer directly, her head slightly tipped with chin slightly raised, her eyes half closed and looking directly at the viewer. Because the work is monochrome with the black and white solarized photo tones combined with the graphite overlay, it changes dramatically as the light direction changes. The graphite outlines change from bold and shiny to almost invisible, as we’ve attempted to capture in the photos. The work is titled “Passive Notice II.” It is in excellent condition and signed front lower left by the artist. The work is mounted and professionally matted in black mat museum board which also has graphite highlights. (The image of work framed is for sizing perspective only.)
