'Passing Through' The Godrevy (2012)Oil painting by Paul Simpkins

This picture was inspired by a view of the Kennet & Avon Canal from a footbridge in Sydney Gardens Bath. A lovely sunny day, the 'Godrevy' canal boat made a pleasing sight as it steadily moved towards me in the bright sunshine.
The contrast of its red colours set against the green foliage, blue sky, surface water reflections and the architecture of the canal made the overall scene very appealing. A special moment from an enjoyable day.
