I wanted to capture the vastness and quiet bond of the American West. Two cowboys ride side by side, talking under the massive evening clouds — a symbol of trust and companionship in its simplest form. In that moment, the golden-red sunset and the earth seem to breathe together, listening to their silent connection.

Using thick oil brushstrokes, I contrasted warm oranges and reds with cool blues to intensify the lighting. The clouds in the background are rendered with soft, swirling strokes to convey their monumental presence, while the cowboys and horses are defined with bolder lines and color blocks to give them weight and clarity. The lighting leads the viewer’s eye from the figures into the distance, evoking a sense of space and quietude.
