An opening door in a Parisian apartment building. A glimpse into a secret world, a place of secrets and domestic mystery, of stairwells imbued with the scents of casseroles and the ghost of a woman's perfume. Creaking floorboards, muffled notes of a piano. The door itself is old, each crack and peel of wood telling a tale. This work is rich in realism, using a palette of Parisian colour. The canvas is 0.4 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished. Texture has been added to give extra depth. A perfect souvenir of the City of Lights.
