Parallel Currents is an abstract diptych created as a dialogue between movement and structure.
I worked on both canvases simultaneously, allowing the compositions to grow in response to one another. Vertical and horizontal elements intersect through layered acrylic paint, forming a visual rhythm that continues from one panel to the next. Soft blue, muted teal, warm beige, off-white, and deep brown tones flow across the surfaces, balanced by areas of contrast and raw texture.
Using a palette knife and brushes, I built the surface through multiple layers, scraping, dragging, and reapplying paint to reveal depth and complexity. Subtle drips, textured passages, and broken lines add a sense of motion, while the restrained color palette keeps the overall feeling refined and contemporary.
This diptych is designed for modern interiors where large-scale art becomes a calm yet powerful focal point. The two panels can be displayed close together as a unified statement or with a slight gap to emphasize the rhythm between them.
The artwork is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and ships in a tube. This method is particularly safe for oversized works and ensures lower transport costs. Rolled works may be easily stretched upon arrival (placed on wooden stretchers for canvases) and/or framed by a local framer.
