- Parachuting Beaver
Artwork description
Back in the 50's, Idaho's Fish and Game wanted to get rid of some beavers bothering people in McCall. And they had a bunch of WWII parachutes. So, they dropped the beavers by parachute into the River of No Return Wilderness area.
I drew this image of Geronimo, the practice beaver, parachuting into the river. I love his face. He looks like he's apprehensive about his landing!
I drew the image onto linoleum, carved it out, printed the raised image onto paper, and colored it in with watercolor and gouache.
Materials used:
linoleum, carving tools, printing paper and ink, watercolor and gouache
