I wanted to record the decorative patterns of the Mediterranean tiles with bold botanical structures. The dramatic shadows cast against the tiles convey the ethereal sunlight which bounces off the surface.
An original hand-pulled screen print. One colour is printed at a time by hand using a squeegee which pushes ink through the screen onto the paper. For each new colour the artist makes a separate drawing/stencil and different coloured layers are built up to create a design.
