Originally, I began this piece of plein aire at the very difficult time mentally for me. Struggling against a mind filled with voices and visions I was dismayed to learn that in menopause my bipolar disorder was morphing into something new. My dear aunt was extremely kind and generously gave me a day a week where we painted locally together. This is a very special painting for me as it is the very first step of an ongoing road to recovery.
