I made this image in the early hours after sunrise, when spring had just begun to whisper its return across the Val d’Orcia.
In that suspended moment between seasons, I was drawn to the way the land seemed to awaken—softly, almost hesitantly—through a veil of lingering winter mist.
The fog still clung to the rolling hills, but beneath it, I could sense the first vibrant greens and warm earth tones beginning to emerge, like a quiet promise of renewal.

I chose to embrace motion and abstraction, allowing the landscape to dissolve into a painterly blur. This intentional softness transforms the scene into something more emotional than descriptive—a dreamlike impression rather than a literal place.

The palette is subtle yet expressive: muted greens and dusty blues hover in the upper tones, while warmer ochres and soft terracottas rise from below. These colors don’t compete—they blend and breathe together, as if the land itself is exhaling winter and inhaling spring…
