While visiting the Balclutha in San Francisco, I was fascinated by the way its ropes and masts framed the skyline beyond. I imagined a woman standing there, quiet and regal, as if she belonged to both the ship’s history and the city’s future.
This painting captures that idea — a moment where past and present meet, and a silent figure becomes part of the story.
