Title: Pablo
Technique: Gum bichromate print on cotton paper
Year: 2014
Paper size: 50 x 70 cm / 19.7 x 27.6 in
Image size: 35 x 35 cm / 13.8 x 13.8 in

This print is part of my experimental series in gum bichromate, a 19th-century photographic technique I deeply love for its soft, painterly, and evocative character.
The image portrays an enigmatic figure—blurred and suspended in an undefined time—gazing from the shadows with a presence that suggests both melancholy and mystery. The composition is intentionally tilted to emphasize the visual and psychological tension of the scene.

Each gum bichromate print is one of a kind, the result of manual processes and layered applications of light, pigment, and sensitivity.

Signed on the front.

The substrate is naturally soiled as it was immersed in various developing and fixing solutions.

Materials used:

Paper, eggs, oxid
