I have only ever caught a glimpse of a Serval cat, as it disappeared into the African bush - one of the most agile and striking hunters from the cat family. I've always wanted to paint one and fortunately, I've been allowed to use a fantastic photograph which I've highly adapted into this minimalist canvas, using a very limited palette of colours. The piece has slightly more translucency in the grass at the front than these photos depict.
