Original artwork description
«Where Gravity Rests»
The body withdraws into itself, as if answering a force gentler than gravity. There is no fall, no resistance — only a quiet agreement between weight and stillness. The figure becomes both subject and anchor, held in a moment where motion has lost its urgency.
The spiral suggests continuity rather than escape, a contained rhythm that turns without progress. Wrapped in sunflowers, the figure carries traces of warmth and growth into this inward space, where light is no longer distant but absorbed.
Here, gravity does not press or demand. It rests. And in that rest, the body finds its equilibrium — suspended, complete, and unburdened by direction.
The painting is created on a 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) gallery-wrapped canvas and the sides are painted, so it can be displayed without a frame.
If desired, the artwork can be beautifully presented in a floating frame (also called a tray frame). This type of frame is specifically designed for gallery-wrapped canvases and creates a small gap around the painting, giving the artwork a clean, elegant “floating” appearance.
Floating frames are widely used in galleries and allow the full depth of the canvas to remain visible while adding a refined finished look.
