Step outside into the sunlight. Look at the colorful garden of greens and take a moment to bask in the fresh air.

These are a few words that express quite accurately the artists' feeling as he was intensely working on this outdoor garden landscape.

Made in the small township of Pont-a-Vendin in the garden of a friend of the artist, this work radiates serenity and joy. The artist's choice was to deliberately use only purple and yellow to create the artwork. An autumn palette for a spring painting was Virtosu's challenge for this painting.

Another, even more pressing challenge, was the threat of storm that was constantly looming through-out that windy Monday - and a time-limit because of the French curfew.

All this meant that Virtosu's keen eye had to focus intently and his hand had to move without hesitation.
