- Once in the city
Original artwork description
The work is painted with oil on stretched canvas , sides are white.
I aimed to capture a moment of quiet introspection set within the subdued ambiance of a rainy urban street. Seated at a small café table by the window, a young woman holds a cup and a cigarette, her expression distant and contemplative. The composition balances interior intimacy with the blurred reflections of the world outside, creating a subtle tension between presence and absence. A nearly empty table—marked only by a glass of red wine and an untouched plate—emphasizes themes of solitude and pause.
Through the interplay of shadow and light, and the woman’s introspective gaze, I sought to invite viewers into her private reverie—blurring the lines between observer and observed.
