Artwork description:

On the Beach, I can hear the sea, it sounds beautiful, so restful and so eternal, unmovable, which makes me feel safe and protected.

A large black and white linocut looks deceptively simple, but can actually be right there with the most difficult, to make an image really work when you only have 2 "colors" means you have to look at things in a different way. I hand carve the linocut plate, and it is great fun to add all the details to really get the beach feel. This is not the sun bathing beach really, it is more wild and wonderful with birds, marshland and all kinds of drift wood washing up, my kind of beach!
I use a fantastic printmaking paper, crisp white with a velvety surface, heavy weight, and the best waterbased ink.
All my linocuts are handprinted by me, the artist,
and I sign, title and number each print.
"On the Beach" is printed in a short edition of 20 prints in this color,
you might not receive the number seen in the photograph.

The linocut itself measures 16" x 23", (40cm x 60cm )
and the beautiful piece of clear and crisp white Zerkall
printmaking paper measures 27" x 19", (70cm x 48cm)

Linocuts are wonderful graphic pieces of printmaking, that can make for a real focal point in your room, you are so welcome to ask me about framing advice etc.

I'll mail your linocut to you protected by tissuepaper and cellophane, it comes with a flier explaining what a linocut is.
If you have any questions just get in touch..... that's what I am here for!

Thanks for looking and welcome back.
