Original artwork description
▧ Original oil painting of a still life.
A mottled ceramic bowl sits at the center-left of the composition.
A shallow, off-white bowl with a blue-and-white design rests in front of and slightly lower than the teal bowl. Small, various-colored olives (green, reddish-brown, some purplish-brown) fill the blue-and-white bowl. Some olives are visibly outside the bowl.
Similar colored olives also lay scattered on a table.
Leaves are interspersed among and support the fruits in the arrangement.
The background is a muted grayish-taupe tone, with soft shadows and highlights suggesting an indoor light source. The overall light and color create a sense of depth and muted mood.
Nature is my greatest source of inspiration.
I live in Provence at the gateway to the Luberon where I draw my daily subjects.
