The painting depicts three abandoned ships resting on a desolate shore under a dramatic, dark blue sky. Their hulls, ravaged by the elements, reveal a rich tapestry of peeling white and faded blue, contrasting with extensive rust and weathered textures. Each ship tilts dangerously, its broken shapes and empty cabins creating a strong sense of immobility. Not just of the ships, but of time as well. As if time had stopped in the painting many years ago.
Who knows when and for how many decades these fishing boats have been plying the waters, who knows how many and what, often dramatic, stories their crews have experienced on board during thousands of fishing trips, what battles they have waged with treacherous water elements during storms and gales, when huge waves and strong winds tossed the boats around like a nut shell.
However, moments of joy after the hard work of the fishermen, when they returned home with rich catches, certainly prevailed. The painting is a memory of old times, but it is also a tribute to those who have the courage to sail in unknown and often dangerous waters. However, it is also a tribute to all those who make a living not only from fishing, but also from any other hard work.
