Original artwork description
This is a door from an old stone house in Creuse (Limousin France) from what appeared to be an abandoned home. The spring blossom of an apple tree, with unattended flowers having reseeded themselves by the entrance below, asked to be painted.
The oil painting is very much in the style of the impressionists, and is on Clairefontaine canvasboard (canvas attached to board). The painting was left for one year to dry before a varnish was applied.
