This is one of several paintings I've made, all plein-air on the Aldeburgh beach in Suffolk, and all from different angles. This line-and-wash painting highlights one of the four derelict crab fishing boats together with the Reuben-William fishing boat. The boat is now one of only two boats fishing directly from the Aldeburgh beach although in the last century there were probably over one hundred. The Reuben-William is hauled down to the sea and back by the yellow tractors and I love the boats and all the paraphernalia including nets, fish boxes, buoys and lobster pots etc. Please note: the width of the painting is 28 not 26cm.
Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours; Cobolt Blue, Light Red, Raw Sienna and Paynes Grey with Pin waterproof ink pen on Bockingford 200lb paper.
