Original artwork description
Many layers of oil were applied in horizontal streaks over a few months. In the process video the non-linearity of how the layers are applied can be seen. At times a recent layer will become completely eclipsed by a current layer, whilst an early layer remains untouched.
This is part of the artist’s ongoing practice, where he intuitively paints for a few hours each day, allowing for his mood and perception of the day to influence the work.
