Strange thing — associative chains. During another missile attack, the lights went out, and my husband and I decided to watch Ocean’s Eleven on the laptop. Suddenly, I remembered a summer evening — a picnic with friends in the garden, a table surrounded by chairs that the cats immediately occupied, the smell of barbecue, a cake already waiting on the table. The next day we were supposed to go to the sea, to Crimea...
That memory became the seed of this painting — a scene balancing calm and tension, irony and melancholy. Under the crescent moon, on a terrace, a woman in black leans over the sea, surrounded by black cats like keepers of her thoughts. They gaze into the dark, into the flame, into the waves — each into its own world.
The work is filled with symbolism, silence, and subtle emotional charge. It’s poetry of stillness, where memory and imagination breathe together.
Created with high-quality Dutch acrylic paints Amsterdam on Italian canvas Unico, the artwork is finished with a satin varnish. The edges are painted to match the background. Part of the Life in Avatar series, it comes on a pre-stretched canvas mounted on a wooden frame. The painting is securely packaged in a cardboard box with bubble wrap and is signed by the artist, accompanied by certificate of authent.
