Featured at the Charleston City Gallery in Charleston, SC for the 2024 Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
(Photo Note: Grandfathering portrait, Daughter (artist), Grand daughter, great grand daughter in arms) at the 2024 Piccolo Spoleto Charleston City Gallery Exhibit.
This image is part of a series I am working on from old 1940-1950 photographs of my parents, Larry and Marie. I call the collection, "Larry & Marie Modern Vintage Series," because I am restoring vintage photos and using modern technology to digitally integrate them into composite works of art.
I restored the 1944 photo of my father in Ocean City, Maryland. I then integrated old news paper article from that year. I also colored and layered floral image.s
Larry is standing on 9th Street in Ocean City in 1944. Larry was one of the first photographers Ocean City, Maryland. Growing up I would go to the attic and find the hundreds of his photographs. I was told my Dad would develop the images and my Mom would do the hand coloring overnight so the photos would be ready in the morning.
