This piece explores the mystical qualities of night and celestial bodies as well as the natural world. It was very inspired by the foliage in Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as the relationship between humankind and nature.

The composition evokes a dreamlike jungle or garden seen through memory, where plant life becomes both human and celestial. Light pulses through the stems as if carrying messages between earth and sky. Stephenson’s work often blurs the boundaries between the living and the imagined, suggesting a shared pulse that connects all forms of life.
