My ladies have always been with me; my earliest drawings were nudes; when I had my first gallery on Samui, I used to have lots of Thais walking by furtively peeping into my shop with lots of kids sneaking a look, all because of my nudes, Thais don’t normally do nudes.
I love painting women, my women are all beautiful women don’t need faces or clothes to portray beauty. My women come in all shapes and sizes they could be from anywhere in the world. Beauty is a feeling, a glow inside that radiates out, I try to capture that glow with every brush stroke.
I wanted My Nude in red hat to look comfortable with lots of pleasing curves, a young attractive woman, exquisite and above all at ease with herself.
