Original artwork description
I hope Leonardo da Vinci isn't turning in his grave at the sight of my take on his masterpiece! Painted to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death.
Painted when I was still living in Milan, "Il Cenacolo" (The last supper) is particularly dear to me as the original mural is in Milan.
Due to the large number of tourists who pour into Milan every day, you can't just walk in to see this incredible masterpiece anymore but have to book well in advance. However, it is well worth the wait! A magical experience in fact.
For my painting, I have roughly used Leonardo's famous composition, but my people are of mixed gender and in modern attire.
The canvas is long and narrow with a crossbar for extra strength.
