Can we still separate happiness and short-term pleasure? Do we see for ourselves which vicious circle we have entered? Fitting room, debit card through, whoopee! Happy. For a day… again tomorrow. Fitting room, debit card through, bag and whoopee! Happy again… for a day.
In this painting I roll myself in the carpet, naked, while Mick Jagger rides around me on roller skates. This piece from the video clip of Dancing in the street, where pop icon and artist David Bowie also plays a major role, refers to my youth in the 80s, in which I grew up and I look back with many nostalgic feelings.
