This is the third (and final) version of the cafes in the old town of the nearest city to us here in France – Niort. It was painted from notes and sketches and photos from the original plein air outing where I painted on the spot to capture the liveliness and the bustle of people moving and meeting and socialising. Seems like a long time ago now that we are currently in lockdown….
