While creating this painting, I wanted to capture the sacred beauty and quiet grandeur of a historic European church illuminated against the night sky. Bathed in warm golden light, the dome and bell tower become a beacon of spirit and history, while the movement of people and traffic below adds the rhythm of everyday life. Rather than emphasizing architectural precision, I used expressive brushwork to highlight the dialogue between glowing light and deep shadow. Layered paint, energetic splatters, and warm–cool color contrasts create a luminous atmosphere, inviting the viewer to experience the timeless romance, history, and vibrant spirit of the city after dark.
