Nice (2026) Original Oil Painting by Nikifor Swiristuhin

I painted this work while walking through the narrow streets of Nice. I was struck by how the bright facades of the houses—red, ochre, and warm yellow—seem to argue with the deep blue sky. The narrow street between the tall buildings creates a sense of movement and life, as if the city itself is breathing the warmth of the south. I used thick, lively brushstrokes, trying to convey not so much the exact view of the street, but my feeling of light, color, and the atmosphere of the old quarter of Nice.
