Much of my work is influenced and inspired by American artists such as Hopper.
Although some of my work points to the alienation of living in a city, others, such as this painting, serve to counter this idea.
Here this man is not alienated or lonely or alone as he has a good book to read hence the title which comes from the expression, "you are never alone with a good book", He always has a good book for company, where ever he is.
