This piece was created on a hand-stretched canvas. I use layers of acrylic paint to achieve a rhythm and balance that is pleasing to the eye. The colors that border on one another are carefully chosen and layered in order to create a slight tension with overall harmony. I coat the final piece with several layers of matte medium and finish it with a layer of matte varnish for a look similar to encaustic wax.

Typically my work is photography based, so painting is a freeing experience and an exercise in creating an immersive color experience. This particular piece was inspired by the primary color scheme of nautical flags.

This large painting is the perfect way to bring luxury into any home or lake house, and can be beautifully displayed vertically or horizontally in any room or above a sofa.
