Nature walks (2023) Original Oil Painting by Kujbus Janos

🔷 STORY
In "Nature walks," I reflect on the absurd paradoxes of modern life and our shifting relationship with the environment. While many of us head out into the wilderness to finally disconnect, escape the noise, and find inner peace, others simply cannot leave their virtual presence behind. They treat the great outdoors as nothing more than a scenic backdrop for self-promotion, spending their time trapped inside a digital world, curating their image and taking selfies for social media. I placed these two contrasting mindsets into the same space to explore this profound social disconnect. For me, this painting captures the irony of our time: how artificial behaviors have heavily infiltrated our natural sanctuaries, leaving us isolated even when we seek connection.
