Japanese famously call this shinrin-yoku, literally meaning "forest bathing" (and local doctors even prescribe it as a remedy for numerous ailments!). I like this term a lot because it points out that deep, contemplative immersion in nature brings clears us - and indeed it does - body and soul both. It's also such a special thing that everyone can instantly relate to this feeling - clearly very primal and very true part of each of us.
The painting reflects this experience - the figure in the middle plane soaking in the calm and serenity of the amber sunset light illuminating the trees and forest floor.
