When I started this canvas, I was thinking about the slow, silent persistence of plants — the way a stem finds its path upward without ever forcing anything. I wanted Nature 599 to hold that patience: one pale form climbing through two metres of white, gathering density in its heart and letting go at its edges.

I work flat, on textured gesso, pouring heavily diluted inks and letting water decide much of the path. On this painting the washes stayed unusually light — sage, celadon, grey — so I concentrated the pigment in a single dark pocket of aubergine and moss, then scattered fine droplets of chartreuse where the flow slowed down. The contrast between the misty veils and those saturated islands is what I kept working toward, session after session.

Stretched on a solid wooden frame with carefully finished 4 cm (1.5") deep edges — no frame needed. The work arrives ready to hang, signed on the back, with a certificate of authenticity. Packed with maximum protection for safe international shipping.
